MissionStatement

Our Goal

Seacoast Artist Guild (SAG) is focused on promotion of the arts, our artists, and involvement in the community. We believe that art is important and that we are blessed with a substantial number of very talented artists in our area. The pursuit of excellence in our artistic endeavors is important. Our desire is to cultivate creativity and to that end we share our knowledge with other guild members. We realize that we must also nurture the future of art in the lowcountry. SAG provides instructors and supplies for the young artists who participate in our programs. We provide monthly programs for our members. Workshops and classes are offered to our members. We have gallerys to help us promote the arts and our artists, and we are dedicated to the arts in our community. Our fundraisers also provide funds for worthy charitable causes. We have accomplished a lot, but we do not intend stagnate. We will continue to strive for excellence and to be a relevant force for the betterment of the community.

New Happenings at the  SAG Gallery at Applewoods!
Don't miss the opportunity to see the wonderful paintings at the SAG Gallery at Applewoods this month! During the first week of November, Gallery members refreshed  their   artwork. The new works on view at 14361 Ocean Hwy, Pawleys Island, SC 29585   are well worth a trip to the Gallery. Visitors will be inspired by the variety of styles and talent of our members. A special "Thank You" goes to all of our exhibiting artists for giving the gallery such a professional look and making the smooth transition.
 
The SAG Gallery  at Applewoods  has welcomed in six new, talented members:   Zena Altman, Bill Hosford, Richard Nelsen, Candi SIms, Grace Velardi, and Jerry Williams  Congratulations to all of these enthusiastic new exhibitors.
 
In anticipation of the holidays, SAG members  have gotten into the spirit of giving with a display of  original 4"x4" and 4"x 5"  miniature paintings The proceeds from the sale of these original works will be used to benefit children's art projects.  . The always popular "minis" are festively  displayed on a  a table near the check out counter . These affordable ( just $10 without a stand)miniature works of art  make great Christmas gifts and will be available through the month of December.. Come to the  SAG Gallery  at Applewoods for the holidays and begin a holiday tradition of giving original and unique art work at Christmas!
 
More good news!
Our SAG Gallery  at Applewoods sales figures continue to remain strong. Our compliments to our members for their continued creativity and their successes in the sales department.

Seacoast Artists Guild's Awards reception for the 8th Annual Fall Show were held on Tuesday night October 25th, 2011 at the Center Court of the Inlet Square Mall. Many of our members and their guests were in attendance and enjoyed the great food and music as well as the wonderful artwork which makes up this years Fall show. Our president Tom Britton welcomed the crowd and presided over the presentation of awards. 73 of our members entered a total of 145 pieces in the show. There were many rave reviews from the guests. Be sure to see the show if you haven't yet, it's open through the 5th of November.

The Featured Artists in the Seacoast Mall Gallery for Oct 25 - Nov 8. are
April Bensch and Grace Velardi

April is a professional artist teaching students, painting murals, and illustrating publications.
Grace is a self-taught fused glass artist, who uses bright vivid colors to express the fun side
of life and hopes her art will make you smile.

The Seacoast Artist Guild of South Carolina, Inc. is a local non-profit Applewood Gallery arts organization with members hailing from all over South Carolina.  It was established by a group of artists interested in sharing their love of the arts with others in the coastal area.  Seacoast is dedicated to bringing opportunities to its members through art exhibits, art sales, workshops, and more.  As part of their mission, the Guild works to open possibilities for those who can't afford to take art lessons and nurture their skills.  They also strive to reach the youth of the area through the visual arts.

GALLERY AT APPLEWOOD:  Any member wishing to be put on the waiting list for the gallery should contact us using our contact page . On Saturday mornings we usually have a featured artist at Applewood.  You do not have to be a member of the gallery to demonstrate on Saturday morning.  It is an opportunity to showcase your work and possibly book in a commission or sell a piece or two while making new acquaintances and friends at Applewood.  Contact us for additional information.
